"Oakbank was a great base to explore Loch Awe, Oban and Kilmartin / Lochgilpead. The cottage is well equipped and has a very spacious kitchen and a comfortable sitting room. Outside there is cycle parking in the greenhouse and you are left bird seed to feed the voracious appetites of the songbirds at Kilchrennan. We were surprised both by the generous welcome pack of food and a tour of the cottage by Jo who also kept an eye out for us during the week. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful which added to our experience including Ian at the local village stores who was a great help. In terms of places to visit then Loch Awe is fascinating and we would recommend hiring a boat and exploring the many crannogs and islands with early Christian sites. We also enjoyed days out cycling on the islands of Lismore and Kerrera as well as the fascinating Kimartin Glen and the Crinnan canal. All in all a very enjoyable break we would recommend to others."
